Elected Official

School Board Representative
Loudoun County Public Schools

Jill served two terms as the Blue Ridge District School Board Representative in Loudoun County, Virginia.  She was elected by her board colleagues to serve as Vice-Chair for four consecutive years and also served as Chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee for most of her 8 years on the board.  In addition to the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, she served on the Personnel (now called Human Resources and Talent Development), Communications, Charter School, Discipline, and Academies of Loudoun Committees.  Jill also served as the Chair of the Charter School Committee during the period when Loudoun's first Charter School, Middleburg Community Charter School, was established.

Jill has always been actively engaged in her role as a board representative, often fulfilling duties above and beyond her official duty requirements. During her first term, Jill accepted an invitation by Virginia Secretary of State to participate in the development of a state testing reform bill, which was later signed into law.  This year long endeavor required several trips to Richmond, a three hour drive from her home in Northern Virginia.  Jill visits regularly with resident groups and organizations,  partakes in community activities, and is very involved in local, state, and national politics, advocating for the best education possible for the students of Loudoun County, as well as within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Jill's term ended in December 2019, but she plans to continue her efforts in the political realm in the future.
